AUGUST is writer/director Jay Gammill's 2007 graduate thesis film for the USC School of Cinematic Arts MFA program in Film and Television Production.
Seventeen-year-old August (Dustin Belt) feels he has to change his looks in order to fit in. And when he finds himself caught between his best friend and the girl he's always had eyes for (Najarra Townsend, Me and You and Everyone We Know), he ultimately decides to undergo surgery to change his face to become the "perfect image" of a high-school teenager.
We all have people in our lives we look up to, but what if you so desperately wanted the approval of others that you would recreate yourself into the perfect image? If you could change any part of yourself to have the most flawless appearance, what would it be? It's time to take a closer look; perfect acceptance may be closer than you once imagined.
