story
Seventeen-year-old August feels he has to change his looks in order to fit in, ultimately deciding to undergo surgery to change his face to become the "perfect image" of a high-school teenager.

synopsis
Through the lens of his own camera, seventeen-year-old August (Dustin Belt) struggles for acceptance in the midst of high-school life, feeling he has to drastically change his looks to fit in. The school bully won't leave him alone, and his parents don't get him either. August ultimately decides what it will take is to undergo surgery to recreate his face to become the "perfect image" of a high-school teenager. And when he finds himself caught between his best friend and the girl he's always had eyes for (Najarra Townsend, Me and You and Everyone We Know), August has nowhere to turn.

AUGUST is writer/director Jay Gammill's graduate thesis film for the USC School of Cinematic Arts MFA program in Film and Television Production.

motivation
We all have people in our lives we look up to, but what if you so desperately wanted the approval of others that you would recreate yourself into the perfect image? If you could change any part of yourself to have the most flawless appearance, what would it be? It's time to take a closer look; perfect acceptance may be closer than you once imagined.
